Hannu Palo released the song "Saturday" together with the Kanava Orchestra

“It feels like I've gone back to my youth in a time machine with these brilliant young musicians,” says Hannu Palo.

Kappele is composed by Erkki Friman, lyrics by Turkka Mali and Pertti Lahti. The arrangement is by the brilliant Kanavan Jarno Tourunen.

Crystallized with humor..

Pappa Palo sings and Kanavan's kids play.

The song is not jive, but it is published by MagnumLive.

“I was 17 and wondered if I would dare to leave,” Palo recalls. He decided to dare. He immediately started gigging as a soloist in a dance orchestra, and it soon became his main job. His first orchestra was founded in 1984. Now, 50 years later, Palo counts the kilometers on the odometer in the millions. He has become known throughout Finland and has seen many stages and dance restaurants dozens of times. His first album was released in 1988 and dozens of recordings have followed. There are many memorable milestones in a long career. The album Tummaa iltaan, released in 1993, which brought him an Emma nomination, made him a favorite of the entire nation and thousands of performances.

"We met the dance orchestra Kanava at the same gig in the summer of 2024. The young men's brilliant skill and enthusiasm for playing the same danceable music as I do led to the collaboration. We did a few gigs together and decided to go into the studio. The now-released Saturday is the first taste of what we've achieved."
