More than a gig.
An experience you want to experience again.
Turunen Pyssy consists of five experienced professional musicians, whose shared live experience is heard and seen in every performance. The heart of Turunen Pyssy is Mika Turunen . Mika is a performer who charms his audience, combining strong singing skills, stage charisma and genuine encounters. Years of experience on theater, concert and show stages are reflected in his ability to make people forget their everyday lives and throw themselves into the music. Mika does not lead the evening just by singing. He leads with emotion. Over the years, the band members have performed in the lineups of several of Finland's leading artists, including Laura Voutilainen, Kaija Koo, Arttu Wiskari, Anna Abreu and Redrama. The shared experience is seen in every performance, but it is not just about technical expertise. Strong musicianship is combined with a strong live performance and the ability to build an entire evening.
Turunen Pyssy stands out thanks to its five experienced live professionals, exceptionally strong musicianship and carefully constructed repertoire. The band's trademarks are an energetic stage show, a charismatic soloist and the ability to build a complete and impressive drama arc from start to finish.
Turunen Pyssy respects the fine traditions of dance floors. At the same time, every evening is truly like Turunen Pyssy. It's not just about what songs are played. It's about what kind of evening they build around them.
Mika reads the audience, builds the rhythm of the evening and senses when to raise the energy, when to let the music breathe and when the whole hall stops for a shared moment. At Turunen Pyssy's gigs, the audience sings along exceptionally much. Not because the audience is asked to join in, but because the atmosphere makes people sing.
Turunen Pyssy has a long history of performing live and entertaining audiences. Now it's time to bring Turunen Pyssy's gigs to dance stages as well. The first dance stage gig on Rönni's stage on July 18, 2026 gave a strong response.
“For their first dance stage gig, it could be said that right from behind the tree, Turunen Pyssy “shot hard right away”. Turunen’s singing was on point and his flute playing skills added a nice extra spice. The entire Pyssy group are clearly experienced and skilled professional musicians.”
“I was at Turunen Pyssy’s first stage gig at Rönni. I – and our five-person car gang – all agreed that we were really positively surprised. Above all, they were a refreshing exception to the fact that they had a unique repertoire. A great selection of well-known Finnish music – but different, including, for example, Teppillä elämä, Teippilla ja rakkaukälle and Häitä pidellýt, which I had never heard on a dance stage. The whole set was full of great songs, and also perfectly adapted for dancing. There should be more bands like this on dance stages that dare to play songs that everyone loves, also from outside the traditional dance genre. Based on this, the band meets its own one criterion: Would I drive two hours away to see them? I could go because of Turunen Pyssy.”
