Kari Vepsä has been one of the top favorites in the Finnish pop music charts since his victory in the 1996 Syksyn Sävel competition. Kari's songs, which exude a masculine warmth, have touched the hearts of Finns, as evidenced by the fact that the Onnenmaa LP, named after the Syksyn Sävel hit, reached the platinum mark in 2004: 40.000 albums sold!
The sudden success did not put Kari Vepsän in a stetson, but the man humbly continued to perform with the people, and new hit material was also created: Tanssin yötö pois , Tää on sun maa , Seitsemäs aalto ... Kari's softly smiling voice has been carried from the radio waves to the ears of her fans and brought comfort to the harsh everyday lives of the citizens.
Kari Vepsän has released several albums over the years, in addition to Onnenmaa, including the solo albums Muistatko and Elämä on kaunis. Kari himself also performs as both a composer and lyricist, including the songs Yksi meistä and Erämaa from the Muistatko album . Kari's first spiritual album Elämästä kiitos was released in the summer of 2016.
The likeable musician and horseman has received official recognition over the years: Kari has been nominated for both the Emma Award (Male Soloist of the Year '97) and the Iskelmä Finlandia Award (2001). In 2018, Kari published the book Kari Vepsä Hevonen asiyalla and the album Vierivät kivet.
At the gigs, Kari Vepsä is accompanied by his familiar four-piece band Onnenmaa.
